Day 1: Tangier – Chefchaouen
This tour of the Moroccan deserts, beginning in Tangier and culminating in Chefchaouen, promises to be a journey of a lifetime. As we pick you up, we will explore the sights of the town, from the bustling souks to the ancient Kasbah. We will then travel to the magnificent Caves of Hercules, marveling at the incredible rock formations. Next, we will visit the beautiful city of Tétouan, known as “the eyes” and enjoy a delicious lunch there before continuing on to Chefchaouen. With its blue-painted doors and relaxed atmosphere, Chefchaouen is one of the most beautiful and tranquil towns in Morocco. You will be able to explore the medina and stay in a hotel for the night, ensuring a comfortable and memorable experience. This tour of Tangier and Chefchaouen is an opportunity to discover the exotic, mysterious beauty of the Moroccan deserts.
Day 2: Chefchaouen – Meknes – Fez
On the second day of our Tangier Desert Tour and after breakfast, we will depart from the beautiful Chefchaouen and begin our journey to the magical city of Fes. On our way, we will make a stop for a visit to the ancient Roman Ruins of Volubilis, a once grand city that was left in ruins after a devastating earthquake in the mid-18th century. After that, we will travel on to the majestic city of Meknes, one of the four Imperial cities. There, you will have the opportunity to explore the famous El Hedim Square, marvel at the grandeur of the Mausoleum of Sultan Moulay Ismail, and get lost in the cobblestoned streets of the Old Medina. Once we arrive in Fes, you will be able to rest and recharge in your hotel and enjoy a delicious dinner there.
Day 3: Fez
After enjoying a delicious breakfast, you will embark on an exciting sightseeing tour of the old city of Fez. Meander through the high-walled streets and witness the daily procession of mourners entering the tomb of Fez’s founder, Moulay Idriss II. Founded in the 9th century, this city is the spiritual and cultural heart of Morocco as it is home to the oldest university in the world. Spend your day exploring the ancient city and its many wonders. Visit the stunning Mederassa Bou Inania, a 14th-century madrasa, and the intricately colored tanneries. Don’t forget to take a wander through the splendid Funduk Nejjarine, a gorgeously restored 18th-century inn. When the day has come to an end, return to your hotel and sit down for a delectable Moroccan dinner. Spend the night in comfort and let the exotic atmosphere of this beautiful city lull you to sleep.
Day 4 : Fez –Ifrane – Cedar Forest – Erfoud – Merzouga
After breakfast on the fourth day of our Tangier desert tour, we will begin our epic journey to the exotic desert of Merzouga, traveling through the breathtaking Atlas Mountains. We will pass through Ifrane, the most modern and pristine city in the country, and arrive at the edge of the Cedar Forest, and the city of Azrou, which is nestled on a hillside and surrounded by many kinds of woodland where endangered Barbary monkeys roam. We will then take a break for lunch in a Berber village, before driving down the curves and entering the pre-Saharan zone, passing through Errachidia and Erfoud, known for its pottery and fascinating fossil quarries. From the vast plateau, we will be awestruck by the giant sand dunes of Merzouga that stretch before us, as far as the eye can see. By nightfall, we will reach our hotel, and can rest easy knowing we have seen some of the most marvelous sights that nature has to offer.
Day 5: Merzouga – Khamlia – Rissani – Erg Chebbi
We will embark on a journey to explore the spectacular landscape of the Erg Chebbi dunes and the many tiny villages that lie along the way, such as Hassi Labied, Merdani, Khamlia, and M’fis. As we make our way to the village of Kamlia, we will likely come across locals with their desert foxes, and may even spot some desert reptiles and mammals. In Khamlia, known as the village of black people who were once slaves coming from Sudan, you can expect to be welcomed with a cup of Berber whiskey while being serenaded with spiritual Gnawa music. Leaving Khamlia, our next stop will be at the golden dunes near the Algerian border, where we will take a picnic lunch under the shade of a tree before continuing on to visit a Nomad family. Here, you will be introduced to the members of the family and learn about their way of life while sipping on a nice cup of tea. Afterward, you will have the chance to explore the sites of black volcanic rocks. As we make our way back to Merzouga, we will make one final stop near Yasmina Lac, if there is water present. Here you will be captivated by the view of the dunes and the nearby lake, and may even take the time to dip your toes in its waters (during springtime). After this, we will make our way back to Merzouga and spend the night at a hotel near the dunes.
Day 6: Merzouga – Erfoud – Todgha Gorges – Dades
In the morning, we will rise before the sun to enjoy a spectacular sunrise breakfast. Soon afterward, we will break camp and ride our camels out of the desert and back to the place of our first departure. After that, it’s time to journey back to the hotel to refresh with a hot shower and a filling breakfast. Luggage must be collected before setting out on the road to Ouarzazate. Along the way, we will visit the canal of irrigation in Jorf before making a stop to gaze in awe upon the highest gorges of Morocco at the Todgha Gorges. We will then traverse the Valley of Roses, where we will visit the cooperative of women and see all the handmade rose products. The journey will end at Dades Valley, with our accommodations and dinner at a nearby hotel.
Day 7: Dades – Ouarzazate – Aït Benhaddou – Marrakech
After having an early breakfast, we ventured to Kasbah Taourirte and the famous Atlas & CLA Studios, dubbed the Hollywood of Africa for producing such classic films as Lawrence of Arabia and Sahara. Our journey then took us to Kasbah Ait Ben Hadou, passing through the stunning Tizi Ntichka pass at an elevation of 2260m. It was breathtaking to behold the UNESCO World Heritage site, the spectacular fortified village of Ait Ben Haddou. We then stopped at the picturesque Berber village of Taddart for lunch at a panoramic restaurant, making it a truly unforgettable experience. Our next destination in this Tangier desert tour is Marrakech, where we will arrive in the late afternoon and were dropped off at our hotel or Riad. The entire journey was nothing short of magical, the sights and sounds creating an exotic and dreamy atmosphere that we will remember forever.
Day 8: Marrakech City Tour

Day 9: Marrakech – Casablanca – Rabat
After your morning at the hotel, we will set off for Casablanca, the grandest city in Morocco and one of the biggest financial hubs in Africa. It is considered the economic and business nucleus of the country and is home to the primary naval base for the Royal Moroccan Navy. We will embark on a beautiful tour of the city, and marvel at the majestic exterior of the Hassan II Mosque, the largest mosque in North Africa and the 13th largest in the world. Once we have taken in the splendor of Casablanca, we will head toward Rabat, the capital of Morocco. Upon arrival, we will explore the Oudayas Kasbah, the Chellah Gardens, Hassan Tower, and the Mohamed V Museum; all of which are sure to leave us mesmerized. At the end of the day, we will make our way to your hotel in Rabat, where we will enjoy a sumptuous dinner and a restful night’s accommodation.
Day 10: Rabat – Tangier
After a hearty breakfast, it’s time to depart from Rabat and begin your journey to the captivating city of Tangier. Behold the mesmerizing desert sands as you make your way to this exotic city.
