Morocco Tours Plan
Day 1: Rabat
Begin your six-day journey in Rabat with a pick-up from the airport and transport to your abode. Settle in, and then be whisked away to the majestic Royal Palace at the Mechouar’s end – a large, grand parade ground. Constructed in 1864, this palace serves as the primary residence of the King of Morocco. Furthermore, you will witness the grandeur of the fortified Oudayas Kasbah, the ethereal beauty of Chellah Gardens, the majestic Hassan Tower, and the solemnity of the Mausoleum of Mohamed V. Finally, the day will end with a delectable dinner at your Rabat hotel.
Day 2: Rabat – Meknes – Volubilis – Fez
Following a delightful breakfast at your hotel, we will set off on the captivating journey to Fes. We will then take a drive to Meknes, one of the four Imperial cities, to marvel at El Hedim Square, the grand Mausoleum of Sultan Moulay Ismail, and the Old Medina. From there, we will move on to the exotic Volubilis, where we will stop to explore the awe-inspiring Roman ruins. Although the ruins were destroyed by an earthquake in the mid-18th century, they still remain an impressive sight to behold. Finally, you will be treated to a restful night at your hotel in Fes, where you will be treated to a delicious supper.
Day 3: Fez – Ifrane – Cedar Forest – Erfoud – Merzouga
After a delicious breakfast, your journey continues with a departure from Fes. We will then explore the charming city of Ifrane, known as the Little Switzerland of Morocco. From there, travel to Azrou, where you will be able to take pictures of the endangered Barbary Apes in the Cedar Forests. Lunch will be served at a traditional restaurant in Midelt, known for its locally grown apples and minerals. Afterward, witness the majestic beauty of Ziz Valley before continuing on to Erfoud, where you can observe the ancient date market and fossil workers. Finally, you will reach the dreamy Merzouga desert where you will be escorted to your hotel for the night and a delicious dinner.
Day 4: Merzouga – Khamlia – Rissani – Erg Chebbi
After a delicious breakfast, you’ll embark on a journey to the exotic Erg Chebbi region. On your way, you’ll arrive at a tiny hamlet called Khamlia, situated in the desert near the majestic dunes of Erg Chebbi. There, you will be treated to the soulful melodies of West African Gnawa music performed in a traditional Berber home. Afterward, you will visit the picturesque oasis village of Rissani, which lies on the northwest border of the Sahara. This small town is home to the renowned Rissani Market, where you can purchase exquisite jewelry, souvenirs, spices, and a variety of arts and crafts. Don’t forget to try the delicious local specialty, Medfouna – a classic Moroccan pizza. Once you’ve explored the market, you’ll board a camel for a ride back to your desert tent for a second night under the stars. Prepare yourself for a magical adventure!
Day 5: Merzouga – Erfoud – Todgha Gorges – Ouarzazate
After a nourishing morning meal, we will pack up camp and embark on a captivating journey through the desert on our camels. Returning to our starting point, you will have time to freshen up as you head back to the hotel to shower and have breakfast. Don’t forget to collect your luggage before departing for Ouarzazate. On the way, we will take a moment to appreciate the marvel of the irrigation canal at Jorf before continuing on to the Todgha gorges, the highest in all of Morocco. As we traverse the Valley of Roses, we will stop at a women’s cooperative, where you can purchase some delightful rose products and bio. In the afternoon, your dreamy journey will culminate in Ouarzazate. You will have the chance to settle in and enjoy a delicious supper at a local hotel.
Day 6 : Dades Gorges – Ouarzazete – Aït Benhaddou – Marrakech
After a delicious breakfast, we will embark on a journey to discover the wonders of the Ouarzazate region. Our first stop will be at the majestic Kasbah Taourirte and the Atlas & CLA Studios, which have been the backdrop for many famous films like Lawrence of Arabia and Sahara. From there, we will make our way up the 2260m high Tizi Ntichka pass, and eventually reach the remarkable UNESCO World Heritage Site – Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou. This stunning fortified hamlet will leave us in awe of its grandeur. Continuing on our journey, we will stop at Taddart for lunch in a picturesque Berber hamlet. After lunch, we will make our way to Marrakech. Once in Marrakech, we will arrive at our destination, concluding our 6-day magical Morocco tours from Rabat, full of exotic sights and experiences that will remain with us forever.
